Aukey PB-Y13 10000mAh Power Bank with Power Delivery

New year, New Phone, same old issue, at the end of the day you have this device with a battery that only lasts only so long. You buy a power brick for home, another for work, another for car and have cables for all of them trying to move you phone from one connection to the next as you continue to try to keep your phones thirst of energy fulfilled throughout the day but you only have so much time at each area, your commute is not quite long enough to get a ton of percentage on your battery, you need to get as much power into your device as possible in the least amount of time, thats where PD comes in to save the day on the new iPhones.

Power Delivery

Reducing the amount of time charging on the go is a huge factor since you don’t want to be tethered to a wall outlet or sitting in your car waiting for your phone to charge. Power Delivery paired with iPhones from the 8 or later can Fast Charge as described by apple at this post :

Use fast charge with iPhone 8 or later. You can recharge your iPhone up to 50 percent battery in 30 minutes.*

Fast charging gives you a quick and convenient way to recharge your iPhone 8 or later. Your iPhone fast charges up to 50 percent in 30 minutes when you use an Apple USB-C to Lightning cable and one of these adapters:

Apple 18W, 29W, 30W, 61W, or 87W USB-C Power Adapter
A comparable third-party USB-C power adapter that supports USB Power Delivery (USB-PD)

Usage

During use over the past couple days the Aukey PB-Y13 has been pretty great, the USB-C connector was able to top off the iPhone XS, DJI Osmo Pocket, an iPhone 7, GoPro Hero 7 Black and still had 2 dots of power left at the end of the day. A quick plug into the USB-C plug I have on my desk and it was able fill back up in a few hours. With my power tester i was able to hit the 18W charging the iPhone XS using the Lightning to USB-C cable, switching to the USB Type-A port (the Red one) It was able to charge the same phone at about 7-8W, as the phone got towards the end it tapered down the speed as a good smart charger should.

Final Thoughts

The PB-Y13 is $29.99 on Amazon as of this posting with occasional amazon coupon which puts this 10Ah battery in the mid-low end of 10Ah batteries but if you factor in the USB-In/Out and then the fact that its one of the few batteries with Power Delivery and Quick Charge 3, it makes it a really good price for all the latest charging specs that one can get these days.

Thanks again to Aukey and TeamTECHKEY for the opportunity to review this device.
